Cheap Ski Insurance

What is cheap ski insurance?
Cheap ski insurance provides a form of travel insurance which has been specifically designed for those who enjoy winter sports holidays. Whilst standard travel insurance policies also include winter sports holidays, often they are very generalised packages, and also include city breaks and beach holidays.

Anyone who has been skiing will testify that a winter sports holiday is nothing like a beach holiday, or a city break, and having a one size fits all insurance policy can be dangerous, especially because of the exceptions on most travel insurance policies. The exceptions part of any standard travel insurance policy has its own winter sports section, and many people who go skiing on such a policy spend their whole time worrying about which rules they are breaking whilst trying to explore the pistes.

How does cheap ski insurance work?
Cheap ski insurance works in the same way as a standard travel insurance policy, but is dedicated to the risks of a ski holiday, and the various activities that you may wish to partake in whilst on holiday. Off piste skiing is one such example, and with a guide or following tracks can be perfectly safe.

Cheap ski insurance also takes into account the added risks in the resort, such as the slippery nature of just about everything in the ice and snow, as well as the security of your skis and skiing equipment. Most cheap ski insurance policies will look after your ski equipment not just on the way to and from the resort, but also while you are there, and whilst it is locked in the boot room.

Cheap ski insurance also takes into account the chances of you getting hurt, and has a different level of medical cover just in case. Because skiing and snowboarding involves hurtling down a slippery slope at quite some speed with little more to protect you than a woolly hat and goggles, injuries do happen and foreign hospitals tend to charge for their services, with an operation on a broken leg and subsequent treatment being one of the cheaper injuries you can incur, yet still costing several thousand pounds.

Without cheap ski insurance, or travel insurance of any kind you would be liable to pay for these medical fees, and if you cannot afford to pay them you may be detained in the country until you find a way to pay the bills.
