What is Ski Insurance?
Ski insurance provides someone going skiing with travel insurance that has been specifically designed with the added risks of skiing and snowboarding in mind.

How does ski insurance work?
Ski insurance works like every other travel insurance product, in that it provides financial protection should you have your flights cancelled or severely delayed, incur any costs as a result of medical bills from treatment should you fall ill or get injured, and from your accommodation being closed or cancelled whilst you are skiing.

Ski insurance also covers your belongings, like travel insurance, but specifically covers your ski equipment in transit, and whilst you are not using the equipment, which many other travel insurance policies will not.

Why do I need ski insurance?
The most important reason to take out ski insurance is that it will cover you for any medical bills resulting from an accident whilst out skiing, as well as from injury incurred whilst in resort. Ski insurance providers accept that you will spend you whole holiday either walking around on very slippery surfaces, or hurtling down slippery surfaces on skis or a snowboard. As a result the risk of injury is much higher than sitting on the beach in the sun.

Whilst we have the NHS in the UK, abroad there are very free health services, even for the residents of many countries, and medical bills running into tens and even hundreds of thousands of pounds are not uncommon.
Ski Insurance will not have the long list of expectations relating to off piste skiing, and ski equipment that a normal travel insurance policy will have, and as a result you will be able to do more, knowing that you are fully covered should the worst happen.
